ABOUT
What is the Conscious Business Manifesto?
Conscious Business Manifesto is an invitation to join the conscious business journey. It is a voluntary decision. We are not interested in creating a new certification program, or a new compliance process. We want to invite business leaders to consciously and voluntarily adopt and commit publicly to more conscious practices.
Each organization should elect what they want to commit and report annually to this commitment to all stakeholders. We want to have a clear and pragmatic approach to the inspirational movements promoting a more conscious capitalism.
The three basic dimensions we invite your organization to commit are:
1. Have a public “evolutionary purpose” – discover, update and publish why your organization exists so all stakeholders understand what your organization is about.
2. Publish your interdependency map – identify the key stakeholders you are committed to and how you will relate to them, listening and generate value.
3. Adopt at least one practice in each one of the five business areas in your organization: Corporate Governance, Labor Practices, Supplier Relationship, Environmental Practices and Community Contribution.
More details will be shares along this journey.
Where does Conscious Business Manifesto come from?
Our heart comes from Conscious Capitalism as a former cofounder of conscious capitalism Brazil Chapter and supporter of other international chapters, international speaker for conscious capitalism and also a Certified B Corp (Sistema B) in Brazil.
This does not mean that the other movement did not influence this initiative as we share similar ideas, goals and dreams. The purpose of this Manifesto is to help accelerate the transformation to a more conscious business ecosystem.
We understand that a new business philosophy is not a on-off switch, but a challenging journey full of temptations and roadblocks.
From the mainstream development, starting with CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility, GRI – Global Reporting Initiative and most recently ESG – Environment Social and Governance are all compliance protocols, you pass or fail or you get to the requirements needed to pass. This is an initiative from the outside. We want to invite you to a journey from the inside out. What can your organizations commit in the three dimensions and the practices in five business area?
Are you ready for a different approach? A more sustainable and committed approach to the change?
